Around here, September always feels like the beginning of calmer days: slower mornings, new inspiration, and a little more time for beauty in the small details. This month’s newsletter is full of behind-the-scenes peeks, a sweet reminder for you, and a little gift tucked in at the end.
Because Care Counts
September happens to be Self-Care Awareness Month–a gentle nudge we could all use this time of year. Self-care doesn't have to be grand or glamourous; sometimes it's pausing to breathe between emails, listening to your favorite music while you cook, or setting aside time for something creative that brings you joy.
Here at Calique, we believe those small acts of care are what make life meaningful. So here's your reminder to take a moment (or several) for yourself this month. You deserve it.
Fresh off the Drawing Board
Hope has been pouring love into the sweetest illustrations for our August projects. We're excited to share these cuties with you!
First up, a green card party invitation paired with a keepsake sign where guests can leave sweet notes. The best part? The party honoree has a soft spot for Highland cows, so the cutest patriotic cow makes an appearance here.
Next, a nature-inspired third birthday party invitation. Bees buzzing, honey pots, and the feeling of stepping into a friendly forest. It's whimsical, earthy, and one of our favorite projects this season.
If You've Ever Wondered...
Sometimes you have a question that floats around in your head and you never get the chance to ask it. Let me offer you some answers to common questions as well as an invitation to ask anything you've been wondering! Calique is an open book and we'd love to hear from you! Just reply to this email if you've got something on your mind.
I have no idea where to start—can you walk me through your process?
Our process is just as custom as our stationery. We have it outlined here and can adjust communication as needed. Reach out in any way that works for you; your job is to tell us your vision, we will take care of the rest!
What if I’m super busy—how much time will this take on my end?
That’s completely up to you! No time to schedule a video chat? Send us a voice note, email, DM, or anything in between. Feel free to reach out whenever you have a free pocket of time.
How far in advance should I reach out?
Our typical turnaround time ranges from 2-3 weeks depending on number of designs, print vs. digital items, and response times to communication. Sooner is better but we can make some magic happen on short timelines as well.
Can you really design around any theme or idea?
You bet! Hope is happy to illustrate anything you’re dreaming up and all designs are built directly from your vision. We just designed an invitation for a ghost and triceratops birthday party. We are here for any idea, wacky and weird included!
What's the best way to send inspiration photos?
You know the friend that you have 3 different conversations going with at once through all different media? Yeah, that’s us. We’ll take them any way that’s easy for you and organize them on our end so you don’t have to worry about it. Wherever you are, we are too!
Do you do revisions if something doesn’t feel quite right?
We offer 2 rounds of minor revisions with every order including font, color, minor layout, and wording changes. Major revisions are subject to an additional fee.
Do you help with wording and etiquette, or do I have to figure that out myself?
We ask about your vision and how much creative freedom we have right in the beginning of the order process. If you have an idea but need help refining it, we are here to help!
How long do I have to make revisions?
As long as you’d like. It’s your order and we are here to make it just right!
Do you only design invitations, or can you do menus, signage, and more?
We’re happy to put together an entire suite for you. Invitations, signs, stickers, table numbers, guest books, and anything in between, we’re ready to build a suite that’s as cohesive as the idea in your head!
